Painting the exterior of your home in the Spring.

March 08, 2019

Winter weather’s elements expose the exterior of your home to certain vulnerabilities, such as moisture causing paint to swell and soften, leading to cracking, blistering, flaking and peeling, as well as inducing the growth of mildew.

Springtime is usually the best time of the year to paint the exterior of your home. The weather isn’t too hot or too cold. Prep the exterior in order to reveal any areas in the wood that are in need of repair. Perhaps the better choice of exterior latex paint would be the toughest and most durable. One that has the most protective finish. In choosing for the most appeal, usually light to neutral colors are popular, with the use of bold shades for accents, such as on the front door, trim and window shutters.

So come Spring, don’t only improve the appearance and curb appeal of your home’s exterior, but help in protecting your investment as well.
