Inspecting your home before spring selling season

February 18, 2019

In our area of East Tennessee, winters are considered to be short, which means spring usually arrives before you know it. This applies to getting your property ready to list, possibly leaving the homeowner in a rush to get the necessary inspections to list and sell a property successfully.

Give yourself plenty of time to get your home inspected. Start by looking over your home yourself in order to eliminate any foreseeable issues. Do a walk through in order to look for potential deficiencies that would be obvious to your average buyer. Usually these issues can be easily corrected. The object is to have a minimal number of negatives to distract a buyer from making a potential offer. This also allows a seller time to make any needed improvements him/herself, or find a contractor, as they are busy during this time of the year.

By being pro-active in correcting minor repair issues, a home owner should increase his/her number of potential buyers for the spring selling season.
