The market has slowed dramatically!  Sellers need to have their home in top form to keep buyers interested.

As you prepare for winter, make sure your home is well lit for showings that  might occur in the evening.  Make sure all lamps have working bulbs and are easily accessible to agents who might be unfamiliar with the property.

Check your outside lights and walkway lights, too.  If you will be there prior to the showing, turn on all the lights,

Leave instructions to leave the lights on when they leave, you can turn them off when you return to the home.  You dont need people who are unfamiliar with the property to be moving around in half darkness.

Also, its time to rake up the leaves, get rid of dead vegetation,  check on your sidewalk salt supplies and unbury that snow shovel.  

As you consider holiday decorating, make it moderate.  Some pretty decorations are welcoming, but this is not the time for over the top.  

On the bright side, the old real estate saying is… if people are looking in the winter, they need to buy!
