Spring and summer usually brings more buyers into the market.  School is out, and maybe schools will be switched.

Families want to settle in to their new home and get adjusted before the start of school.  also, lets be honest, who wants to look at houses during a blizzard or ice storm?  The days are longer and brighter now, and buyers are ready to look.

As a seller, you have probably spent years making your home into the perfect home for you.  You have picked out your favorite paint and carpet colors.  They might match your couch and chairs.  However, some colors are not for everyone.  It is thought that painting the walls in a neutral tone will increase appeal to buyers.

Consider the lighting.  It is much more attractive to buyers to see a well lit home.  change the lightbulbs to higher wattage if the current lighting is dim.  Consider adding a few lamps if rooms only have a ceiling fixture.

Give any exissting carpeting a hard look.  Does it have stains or is it completely worn or outdated?  Consider a good steam cleaning, or replacement to a new inexpensive neutral tone.
