Selling HUD Homes

September 16, 2021

When working with a potential buyer and they decide to purchase a HUD HOME it is key to remember that they are SOLD "AS-IS".  Many of the homes have been neglected prior to HUD obtaining and preserving them in the state they are.  As Agents it's imperative to review any and all documents associated to the property.  The information provided by HUD regarding the property can provide detail to a potential buyer of what they may be looking at in terms of the condition of the property as to what type of Financing can be used for the Purchase.   Being detailed orientated will save both the Agent and potential buyer time which can allow for a much smoother transaction.  If not being thorough many agents can miss out on the chance of a sale.  If you are not a Registered HUD Agent when a potential buyer calls, be sure to work with someone in your office who is or reach out to the Listing Agent.  If you are wanting to become a HUD Registered Agent head to www.hudhomestore.com to review the process.  The Best HUD Agents are the ones who take time to pay attention to detail and get a feel of the property so questions can be answered easily.
