Real Estate Photography Tips

March 11, 2021

So you are getting ready to sell your home and need some pointers on preparing your space for photos.  This may seem overwhelming and unnecessary, but professional quality photos and the time spent preparing for them will be worth the effort!  After all, these photos are going to show up in home searches on sites like Zillow, Realtor and Trulia. You want your property to stand out among others.

1. Clean and stage your home! Put away dog bowls, hide trash cans, clear off counters.

2. Try to have your home photographed on a sunny day.

3. Turn on all lights in every room.

4. Include several angles of exterior shots.

5. Take multiple angles of each room to ensure that someone viewing your photos can tell where they are in the home.

6. Use a tripod to make sure your photos are chest height and will be level (edit any photos that do not look level).

7. Take more photos than you need! Maybe you won't include a photo of your laundry room, but take it anyway.  Buyers will want to see as many photos as they can and it may entice them to schedule a showing.
