You can do a lot of property research without ever leaving your couch, whether it is about the potential location of a home, HOA restrictions or financing opportunities, many factors go into purchasing a home or property. During this anxious time, and with more and more mandates for quarantining, Buyers who are still interested in purchasing real estate can still familiarize themselves with potential neighborhoods, locations, and properties without leaving the comfort of their clean, germ- free homes. By utilizing the internet, interested buyers can reach almost every aspect of the home buying process, but will most likely need to save in-person meetings with their agent until the virus is under control. Here are some online researches you can perform while adhering to your local quarantine guidelines or until most businesses return to normal business hours:

  • Look into the location of the property, ex. for nearby school districts etc.

    • GoogleMaps, Zillow etc.

  •  Floodplain information and seasonal weather

  • What do the taxes look like for this area?

  • Does this property have an HOA (Home Owners Association)?

  • Does this property title have any contingent fees or back taxes?

  • Are you pre-approved?

    • Most business will be working remote during this time, your lender can help you decide your budget

       

By doing the following, you can do your part of lessening the spread of viruses and germs while staying up to date on property information. This will make the home buying process much easier, if the buyer is as informed as possible.
