In Putnam County, Tennessee, we have had the worst natural disaster in it's history, this week. 

An EF-4 tornado hit here,  leaving 18 dead and many injured - an epic number of homes completely gone and more damaged.   

Through this occurance some familys are finding they are under insured,  that they have actual value and not replacement value coverage.

Please pull out your homeowner's policy or renter's policy, or have a conversation with your agent,  to be fully informed of how you are covered. 

I read a Facebook posting from a local lady that processes claims.  She said it is a good idea to video each room of your home and list the contents, keep it updated with a list of all features.  Do you have crown molding, real wood flooring - proof of these upgrades can make a difference in amount you would receive from a claim.  Store this online,  where it  can still be accessed if all home contents are destroyed.
