Summer is upon us in Michigan! Here are some tips for maintaining vacant properties during the summer months...

-Keep the lawn manicured for curb appeal and to avoid fines from the city or township

-BUZZZZ Watch for bees nests near entry points to keep buyers and agents safe

- Run a dehumidifier in homes without Air Conditioning to avoid mold and mildew

-Make sure the electric is on in homes with sump pumps and basement waterproofing systems

-Walk the exterior of the home to make sure there are no doors kicked in or windows broken before entering in case of squatters 

-Keep the exterior and any mail maintained so the home does not appear vacant to people passing by to avoid vandalism and break ins

-Spray for pests inside and outside when necessary

-Repair the grading on the exterior of the home and make sure gutters are clean as needed to avoid water intrustion in your basement or crawl space
