Be Prepared to Show a HUD HOME!

As a busy Realtor, I know that that Spring is a busy time for our Real Estate Market.  When you get a call on a HUD Home,  or any home, there are a few things to keep in mind.

PARK IN THE ROAD SO AS NOT TO BE BLOCKED IN.  If you ever need to make a quick getaway, you do not want to be stuck.

BRING A FLASHLIGHT TO SHOWINGS.  Ask your buyers to have a flashlight also.  Make sure that you are doing your showings during daylight hours, as there are no lights for you to turn on, inside the home.  For safety purposes it is better to show in the daylight so that you can safely see where you are going.

DO A WALK AROUND THE HOME FIRST BEFORE GOING INSIDE TO MAKE SURE THAT THERE ARE NO DOORS OR WINDOWS OPEN OR BROKEN.  If you find anything suspicious, please call the listing agent first to notify them of this issue.  You may need a police escort to go inside the home for everyone’s safety.

KEEP YOUR VEHICLE KEYFAB IN YOUR HAND.  You can press the alarm if you ever need to, to alert the neighbors for help

KEEP YOUR PHONE IN YOUR HAND.  You can call the agent, your Broker, or anyone that you may need to call if need be.

NEVER HAVE ANYONE WALKING BEHIND YOU.  When opening the lockbox, have the buyers walk around the home.   You should walk behind them instead.

This is a good start to safe showings.
