It would be nice if all we had to do was focus on doing the things we love to do in real estate. Showing properties, writing offers, engaging with clients. These are things we love to do, but we must remember that we are also running a business. This is true whether we own our own office or if we are individually self-employed. It has been said that the best approach is to run our business and not let the business run us.

This means that we have to operate in an efficient manner making sure that all processes and procedures are documented and followed and any that work along with us should be doing the same thing as well. For some of us, this means running payroll, processing taxes every quarter as well as invoicing and payables. Such things it would require that we set a set time to complete these things and to do so on a routine basis. If we don't, before we know it, we can be swamped with playing catch up which takes us away from time spent doing what we love to do as real estate agents.....so again. keep that mantra in mind....run your business but don't let your business run you!
