Spring is here in Michigan! As the weather warms in Michigan there are some maintenance items that should be done on all homes to avoid flooding and wet basements and to get your property ready for summer! 

-Clean your gutters 

-Check for areas of low grade around the foundation and fill 

-Make sure downspout extension are attached and running far enough away from the foudation of the home

-Check vacant homes regularly to make sure they are secure and basement is dry

-Keep personal items and furniture away from the walls and off of the floor in your basement if you are unsure if it gets wet with rain. 

-Cut down any plants that haven't been already and clean away debris and leaves to allow new growth to emerge. 

-Clean and mulch beds

-Spray for pests around the home

-Plant grass seed where needed

-Power wash your house and deck and stain and paint as needed

-Uncover and pull out patio furniture
