Homestead Exemption Filing Deadline

If you purchased a home in 2017, you've got until the end of next month to flie for homestead exemption on your current primary residence.
What to bring to the Tax Assessors Office:
- Recorded Warranty Deed to property or other recorded document proving ownership to the property
- Social security numbers of applicant, spouse, and all joint owners
- Cost of home and land
- License tag numbers of all vehicles owned by you or in your possession
- Birthdates of applicant, spouse, and any joint owners
Remeber: If you forget to do this, It could cost you hundreds if not thousands of dollars.
You only have to do this one unless your marital status changes, if you become disabled, or when you turn 65 years old.
