Don't Overlook Home Safety Checks

Home safety checks should not be overlooked. With the season changing it is a good time to run a safety check in your home.
Smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detecters are a good place to start. Not only check your batteries but clean the detectors off. Built up dust can affect the way they work.
If you have a fireplace; have your chimneys and flues inspected by a professional.
Perform a fire drill. Make sure you/and your family have a predetermined meeting place & know your exits. Have at least 2 extis out of your home. If you live in a 2 story home buy a rescue ladder.
Fire extinguishers make sure you have one on every level and always remove any that appear to be damaged. Check the dates and schedule suggested by the manufacturer.
Clean out your medicine cabinet. Remove your personal information from any packaging before disposing of it.
