Real Estate in the winter

November 01, 2021

Real Estate in the wintertime.  Winter is usually considered to be a slow time in the market.  The holidays approach, the weather is less cooperative, buyers tend to focus on other events and everyone says "Im waiting till spring."

Not this winter, not this year!  The housing market is still strong, there are still multiple buyers for properties, and

rates are still ok.  Homeowners should be aware that showings are still happening inspite of all of the above usual market drags.  That means that all snow should be quickly cleared from walks,  pictures of garden and yard in summer can be placed out for prospective buyers to examine.   Overdecorating should be avoided.  The buyer needs to focus on the features of the home.

There is an old adage in real estate that any buyer out looking in the winter months has an urgent need to purchase quickly.  right now there is a pool of buyers who have been looking and getting shut out of properties due to multiple offers, and over bidding by competitors.  This is the time to be ready for all those holiday showings, and great offers.
