Easy fall projects for your home

October 19, 2021

While the weather is still nice, fall is a great time to take advantage before the weather turns to cold and snow.

After the first frost is a great time to cut back flowers and plants.  If you have roses, then make sure to get a rose cone and keep a stone on top to repvent strong winds from blowing the cone away.  Its also a good time to put a little more mulch down aroung these plants to give them a little insulation from the weather.

Some people like to rake and bag leaves while others prefer to luch them up in the lawn.  I was tell people which ever is better for your lawn and more manageable is the proper choice.

Next, it's time to clean the gutters and make sure there's nothing obstructing water flow.

If you are in areas of snow or where snow removal is needed, then it may be good to get the 4' or 6' reflective sticks to put along the edges of your driveway.  Not many people like to find out in the Spring that they have a lot of yard repair from a plow causing lawn damage.

Finally, once you go back inside, check your windows and doors.  Look for areas where you can touch up any cracked caulk, or where you may need to replace a door seals.

These items should protect your plants, your home, as well as save some money on energy costs.
