Carolina Camel Rides operates from Ramseur, North Carolina where you can actually ride one of their cute camels. Who says you have to travel to the Sahara Desert to ride a camel?! At their Camel Station, located in Ramseur, you can spend the day on the farm, getting to know the camels as well as the other animals in the small petting zoo. Both the staff and the camels are very accommodating, and love to see new visitors each day. At the Camel Station, you can take a ride on one of the camels, either around the ring... or on one of their adventurous camel treks. Regardless of whether your camel ride takes place upon a camel with one hump or two won't matter in the least. You'll have a riding saddle that includes a handy surround for you to hold onto. You're never too old or too young to ride a camel, so now is the time to check this one off your bucket list! Carolina Camel Rides and the Camel Station are located at 2975 Parks Crossroads Church Rd., Ramseur, NC 27316. Camel rides in the ring are $19.50/person and include three rides, plus unlimited time in the petting zoo (children under age 4 are free with a paying adult). The camel treks are more akin to a trail ride (on a camel) and last approximately one hour. The cost is $65/person and your trek must be scheduled in advance by calling 336-963-4227. You must be age 10 or older for the camel trek. Camel Station is open four days a week: Thursday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Learn more on their official http://www.macontechdev.com/. Carolina Camel Rides is located a mere 40 minutes south of Greensboro and less than two hours northeast of Charlotte.
